I recently rented a U-Haul box truck from this location. The interior appeared dirty and smelled heavily of cigarette smoke and other things. This vehicle was not rental worthy and should not have been made available.
I chose StorSafe of Downtown Venice for many reasons. The location of my current rental and the rental I'm waiting to occupy, the 2 months free advertised when you are shopping their available units (2 months free is on each unit), they easily waived the lock fee's since I had my own, and they had a free van when you rented from them! Sounds great right. Wrong. The van isn't included, you rent it with a $150 deposit minus gas; that's not mentioned anywhere. Poor customer service. Instead of telling you what they "can" do they tell you that what you're reading from their website isn't there for you to read and then hang up on you. The images of the units are false; the usual roll door units with clean conrete floors and ample lighting are advertised but it's not what you get. And there is no climate control. You get a chain link cage in a dark confusing maze. The darkness is the climate control. Since I trusted the website advertisement and had paid I went with it. I'm just waiting for my new lease to start. I made phone contact with Ivan several times before actually paying and was never told that I would pay a full month for 2 days. If I had been told that on June 28 I would have to pay another month on July 1 I would have just waited the 2 days like any common sense human being to have a full month. So now what I was able to put into the cage is hostage because they have denied me access until I pay another month and a late fee. My lease was up June 30, now I have no where for the rest of my things until my new place is ready. I wish I had endless funding for fkry like this but I don't. You kind of rely on services like this to make difficult situations more tolerable and they don't understand the impact when they are not operating in good faith.
Super easy to rent once I got the right number. Very nice accommodating. Glad not to have to speak with a robot (they are not local-at least I donβt think they are) but got back with me very quickly and worked out a good deal and will have access right away!
