B & J Self Storage

This is my first time ever needing a storage unit. I called B&J Self Storage in Wauchula, Florida and a man answered and I said hello I am looking to rent a unit. I asked for his name and the man wouldn’t give me his name. I thought since he sounds like he may be an elderly person maybe he didn’t hear me. No big deal, I thought to myself I’ll ask him later after our conversation. I proceeded on to asking him what are the price ranges of the units. He told me to stop fishing for prices!!!!????!!!! I stayed shocked, because I only go fishing for fish! I thought that was extremely rude. So at this point I’m thinking I’m gonna put my valuables in the hands of a person that can’t even give me his name that’s fishy! So at this point for the second time I ask for his name and he hangs up on me. Rule of thumb, if business is not right from the beginning, business will always end up wrong. I wouldn’t do business with this fishy person at all. After I read the reviews everything makes sense. Never do business with a salty old man! I’M GONE FISHING 🎣

Over priced for the level of storage. Move or rats got in and had moisture damage on many boxes. I also saw termite droppings and wings.

We got our unit at the end of may, we moved to Ohio, we paid up till August, we missed August payment, we paid September and October we have our money order receipts. The owner tried to say we didn’t pay September, but we have our proof, we were behind November and December is due, but I called to pay up fully the $300. We got behind due to financial reasons from the move. He has ignored our phone calls, proof - I would call on my phone it would go to voicemail and I would call on a different phone and he would pick up, he has acted like he don’t hear us when he does answer. never received a letter to say our stuff is being auctioned/sold if that’s the case ( I’m assuming it is and he made a mistake in selling) . I hate that it’s ended this way but at least he could had told us and legally he should had give us a notice. I was told after three months of non payment, stuff is sold, he said that the first time I had ever talked to him, and he said he would get back with me to let me know what was going on and he never did and has ignored my calls, being late in August and November is just two months and December is due now. So he has auctioned our stuff before three months and without out due process. very unprofessional by not giving us a fair warning or notice of auctioning off. So beware!

Had our fifth wheel there and someone brook into it. The owner never called to tell us and we only found out from someone else who had damage done. Their security camera's didn't work either. To boot they kicked us out.

Not a bad place. A little pricey. A little sloppy after it rains.
